About us

LVIV INSTITUTE OF MILITARY HISTORY was founded on February 14, 2012 in Lviv. This is a non-profit public organization created by a group of military history researchers and military experts who united in 2008 with the aim of founding the Lviv military almanac Citadel, as well as implementing other defence projects necessary for the country.

The Institute cooperates with many state and public organizations and implements projects in the research, search, educational, enlightening, publishing and volunteer spheres, which in one way or another relate to military affairs and military history.

The slogan defining the activity of the Institute: AD NARRANDUM ET GERENDUM. We not only took responsibility for the description of military history, but also participated in its creation.

You can learn more about the activities of the Institute in the description of specific projects that we have been implementing for a long time. Of course, these projects do not exhaust all our activities, but in these descriptions they are specified in a certain way.

If you consider our activity important and useful, both for Ukraine and the whole world, and you have the appropriate opportunity, then we ask you to support either a specific project or the activity of the Institute in general, to the best of your ability.
